Through the numerous events hosted throughout the years, the BSA has always aimed to connect black students on campus and beyond. The BSA exec team is always working on introducing new initiatives and opportunities which will be beneficial to our community.

Revival
Dark brown. Dark skin. Light skin. Beige. Fluorescent beige. Everybody is welcome at Revival. The BSA and the Almeda Collective are kicking off the new year by hosting an art show that will celebrate the work of Black students with an interest in visual art of all mediums. There is no ceiling: everything from sculpture, to jewelry, to painting, to photography will be showcased.
We want to see who you are at your most creative and your least limited. The Revival will not be televised. The call for submissions will be open from January 1st to January 19th. Please feel free to submit old work, personal passion projects, or assignments. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach us through Instagram DMs or our email account (uoft.bsaexec@gmail.com). The submission package is linked in our bio.

Join the BSA and NewPride at Snakes and Lattes for a fun, low-stress night for Black Queer identifying students on November 16th from 7-10PM. Meet other Black Queer individuals, enjoy some nice food and just have fun!

Calling all guys, gals, and ghouls! It's that time of year again, and of course y'all already know the BSA's been brewing up a night of Halloween magic you won't want to miss! Join us for Fright Night, a spine-tingling soirée filled with costumes and chilling fun!
Those who arrive between 10pm-11pm will be entered in the Best Dressed Competition for a chance to win a Cash Prize!

Join us on September 5th as we host our part 2 of our UofT 100 series, where first years will have the chance to ask questions to alumni and older students, and meet other first year students!

UofT 101 Panel Event
Join us on September 4th as we host 1 of 2 panel events giving the 411 on what it’s like being a Black Student at UofT!

Come out to the BIPOC Resource Fair and check out all the inclusive and cultural clubs that UofT has to offer!

B(L)ack to school party
Hey BSA, get ready for great music and straight vibes with Day 3 of Black Frosh: B(L)ACK to School Party!
This party will take place from 4pm-8pm in the Quad of Whitney Hall at University College, 85 St-George Street, this Saturday, September 3rd.
This event for ALL UofT students of all 3 campuses, and is geared toward Black freshmen.
No alcohol or controlled substances will be permitted on the premises. Food and drinks will be provided!

Black Frosh Movie Night
Get ready for day 2 of Black Frosh 2022. Lights, camera, action. It’s a night out at the movies. Tune in to watch Respect, a biographical drama about the great musician Aretha Franklin. Respect will last approximately 2 hours & 30 minutes.
Ground rules:
1. This event is for all UofT students of all 3 campuses (while prioritizing black freshmen), and *only* for UofT students
2: The form for selecting concessions will be distributed to all those who have registered.
3. No alcohol or controlled substances will be permitted on the event’s premises

High School Conference Day 3: “Wellness in Post-Secondary: Striving to Thrive”
May 19th, 2022, 10:00AM-12:00PM (Day 3): “Wellness in Post-Secondary: Striving to Thrive”.
Our last workshop, presented by a wellness expert, will discuss mental health surrounding the transition from high school into post-secondary and will include interactive strategies to help maintain student’s wellbeing during the transition process and once in post-secondary education. There will be an interactive activity in this workshop as well.

High School Conference Day 2: “Financial Literacy - Viewing Money as a Tool!”.
May 18th, 2022, 10:00AM-12:00PM (Day 2): “Financial Literacy - Viewing Money as a Tool!”.
This workshop will consist of a presentation on financial strategies for post-secondary life, followed by interactive elements to practice and apply these strategies

High School Conference Day 1: “Navigating Academia While Black"
May 17th, 2022, 10:00AM-1:00PM (Day 1): “Navigating Academia While Black"
A discussion with black academics and professionals about student life”. This is an academic workshop where students will be able to hear from black students, professors, and academics in a variety of fields. They will learn about a plethora of academic opportunities and paths, in addition to hearing the experiences of some black students. There is also an opportunity for Q and A, where students will be able to ask the speakers questions. The discussion will be in a panel and moderated by an E&O director. In addition, there is an interactive activity in the workshop.

BSA x NSA End of Year Party
Put the pen down and come celebrate the end of the school year with the BSA & NSA!
This event is taking place at Drip, the speakeasy in the basement of Come See Me Toronto. This is an 18+ event, in which colour-coded wristbands will be provided for those who are of drinking age. $5 Online registration, after registration closes, $10 at the door.
Our party is open to ALL UofT students (while still prioritizing black students), and every student has the option to be accompanied by two non-UofT guests (+2). For security purposes, when registrering, the UofT student must include the names of their non-UofT companions.
Come out for good music, good vibes, and a night to not forget!
