Experience. Education. Empowerment.

Through the numerous events hosted throughout the years, the BSA has always aimed to foster connections between Black students both outside and inside the University of Toronto.

We aim to enrich the (post)secondary experience of Black students through annual events such as the High School Conference, and collaborative events such as Financial Literacy workshops.

Make sure to stay updated with our social media pages as well as our website so you don’t miss our future projects!

ANNUAL EVENTS:

Black Frosh

AUGUST - SEPTEMBER
This event will take place over the course of several days, and is an opportunity for incoming first year students to not meet and socialize before the beginning of the school year!

Black Graduation

JUNE

Black Graduation works to honour our students in the way they deserve — with a ceremony that is dignifying and triumphant. The Black experience here at U of T is a unique one, and in light of that, Black graduation helps counter the isolation and tribulations that many Black students feel on campus. It is an important event that brings together all students, as a tri-campus affair, unifying the St. George, Mississauga and Scarborough campuses.

Black History Month Events

FEBRUARY

Every February it is our absolute delight and honour to bring our membership an array of events throughout the month, that individually and collectively work to celebrate our community, past, present and beyond.

High School Conference

MAY

Meant to dispel myths surrounding post-secondary education by showing high school students that they can exist and thrive in the space of academia, the annual BSA High School Conference acts as a support system for incoming and prospective black university students through workshops covering topics such as financial literacy and mental health.

Black Study Hall

End of Each Semester (Fall & Winter)

Black Study Hall is an opportunity for students to find a safe space either virtually or in-person to be productive! Students are free to either work on their assignments or chat amongst each other, contributing to the creation of an intellectual, fun space.
